The Stony Brook Seawolves football team represents the State University of New York at Stony Brook located in Stony Brook, Long Island, New York. Stony Brook's first varsity season was in 1984 as a NCAA Division III independent. Prior to 1994, Stony Brook was known as the "Patriots ".
The Seawolves are a member of the NCAA FCS Coastal Athletic Association and play their home games at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook. The Seawolves are currently coached by Billy Cosh.
