Max Shortell is a quarterback for the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.

Collegiate Career[]

Minnesota[]

He made his NCAA debut when he was a member of the Minnesota Golden Gophers in a game against the USC Trojans in 2011 after starter Marqueis Gray was injured. He made one start in his freshman year against the Michigan Wolverines, in which the Gophers lost 58-0.

In Minnesota's third game of the 2012 season against the Western Michigan Broncos, starter Marqueis Gray was injured allowing Shortell to finish the game and help the Gophers win 28-23. In the next week, Shortell started and led the team to a 17-10 victory over the Syracuse Orange.

Jacksonville State[]

After the 2012 season, Shortell announced his intentions to transfer out of Minnesota due to coach Jerry Kill's inclination to mobile quarterbacks. After about 5 months without a team, Shortell announced he would be playing for Jacksonville State.[1]
