Matt Bryant born May 21 1975 in Orange, Texas, is a placekicker for the Atlanta Falcons. Originally signed by the New York Giants in 2002 as a free agent, Bryant played one season with the Indianapolis Colts, one season with the Miami Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was signed as a free agent by Tampa Bay prior to the 2005 season.
On October 22, 2006, Bryant successfully converted a 62-yard field goal as time expired in Tampa Bay's 23-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. The field goal was the second longest distance (second place in NFL history in terms of distance) behind the 63-yarders kicked by Tom Dempsey in 1970 and Jason Elam in 1998.
On October 23, 2006, in response to his 62-yard field goal, Mayor Pam Iorio declared October 23 to be "Matt Bryant Day" in Tampa, Florida.
