Manti Te'o is a linebacker for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish who are FBS independents.

In his 2012 senior season, Te'o won the Bronko Nagurski, Vince Lombardi, Walter Camp, Dick Butkus, Chuck Bednarik, and Maxwell awards. Te'o was one of three finalists for the Heisman Trophy in 2012 but lost out to Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.
