John Broussard was born on December 18, 1983 in Kingwood, Texas and is currently an American football wide receiver that plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League. He was drafted in the 2007 NFL Draft. Broussard played college football at San Jose State University

College Career[]

John was a four-year letterman as receiver and kick returner. His career totals included 103 receptions for 1,566 yards (15.2 avg.) and 13 touchdowns. He ranked third in school history with 72 kickoff returns and fourth with 1,546 kickoff return yards, recorded 20 plays of 40-plus yards in three seasons (14 receptions and six kickoffs), and recorded a reception in 31 consecutive games. Broussard totaled career-high 52 receptions for 844 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior and finished with 26 receptions for 361 yards and five touchdowns as a junior. He posted three 100-yard receiving games. Broussard scored on a 90-yard reception against Boise State, the third-longest pass play in school history. As sophomore, he returned 34 kickoffs for 850 yards (25.0 avg) and one touchdown along with grabbing 20 receptions for 343 yards and one touchdown.

Professional Career[]

2007[]

Broussard played in eight games as a rookie and finished with four receptions for 126 yards and one touchdown. Two of his four receptions were for 40-plus yards. During the season opener versus Tennessee, he scored his first career touchdown on a 47-yard diving catch, the longest by a rookie WR in team history. Unfortunately, he injured his ankle on Nov. 11 at Tennessee and was inactive for six games before being placed on injured reserve.
