The Goalposts are the yellow "U" shaped bars at both ends of the field. They are located in the back of each end zone.

Purpose[]

They are used for field goals and extra points. If the kicker kicks the ball through the goalposts, it is considered "good", and the team is awarded however many points depending on the situation. If it does not make it through the goalposts, it is considered "no good", and no points are awarded. If the ball is too short, and it land in the end zone, it may be caught by a defender and returned the other way.
