Frank Mitchell Beamer (born October 18, 1946) is a former American college football coach and player. He was the head football coach for the Virginia Tech Hokies from 1987 to 2015, and was the winningest and longest tenured active coach in NCAA Division I FBS. From 1981 to 1986, Beamer served as the head football coach for the NCAA Division 1-AA Murray State Racers. On November 1, 2015, Beamer announced that he will be retiring from coaching at the end of the 2015 football season.
