Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is a financier and former owner of the New Jersey Generals of the USFL. Trump is generally regarded as responsible for the final demise of the USFL, by forced a move from a spring-summer schedule to one in the fall, directly opposite the NFL. The USFL then sued the NFL for antitrust violations, winning a pyrrhic victory, when the jury only awarded the USFL a single dollar in damages. The USFL ceased operations soon afterwards.
A few years later, Trump was offered the opportunity to buy the Dallas Cowboys for $50 million. Trump declined, and Jerry Jones snapped them up. The Cowboys' franchise is now worth over five billion dollars.
