Damon "Greek " Tassos was a guard who played for Texas A&M, where he was inducted into the Texas A&M Hall of Fame in 1947. He went to Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio, Texas.

He was drafted in the third round of the 1945 NFL Draft by New York Yanks, but played for two years with the Detroit Lions. He then went to the Green Bay Packers and played there for 3 years. His coach was Curly Lambeau. He played right guard for all teams.

He was born on December 5, 1923 in San Antonio,Texas and passed away from ALS on February 28, 2001.

He was married to the former Wanda Jean Butcher (deceased) on February 17, 1947 and has two daughters, Cynthia Tassos Phillips and Christine Tassos. He has four grandchildren, two girls and two boys, who are named Damon after their beloved grandfather.
