Florida A&M[]
Miami opened the Mark Richt era with a 70-3 win over Florida A&M. Brad Kaaya threw for 135 yards and 4 TDS, and Mark Walton ran for 116 and a touchdown. To open the game, Miami CB Corn Elder intercepted a pass on the Rattlers own 28. The Canes answered quickly, as Mark Walton ran to the 3 on the first play of their drive. Kaaya found Marquez Williams for a touchdown, putting Miami up 7-0. After forcing a punt, Miami drove downfield again, scoring on a Joseph Yearby touchdown run to go up 14-0. After several punts and missed field goals (by Miami), Kaaya threw his second touchdown of the game, finding Chris Herndon II from 16 yards out. Later, Yearby ran for a 64 yard TD (28-0). The Canes poured it on in the 3rd quarter, scoring 42 points, and demolishing the Rattlers 70-3
