OSU scores on 1-yard sneak by Art Schlichter with 9:57 left to cap a 13-play, 83-yard drive

MICH drive halted at OSU 38 when LB Marcus Marek tackles QB Steve Smith just short of the marker on 4th down with 3:36 left

3rd Quarter

Haji-Sheikh kicks 26 and 23-yard field goals for MICH

MICH CB Brian Carpenter intercepts Schlichter at MICH 19 as OSU appeared to be going in to score

MICH's Butch Woolfolk immediately gave the ball back when he fumbled and OSU S Shaun Gayle recovered at MICH 27 but OSU failed to capitalize as Bob Atha missed a 40-yard field goal
