A&M was held inside its own 30 on first two possesions...Dan Miller kicked 47-yd FG and Miami drove to A&M 13 on next possession but Mike Rodrique was INT'd by CB Donald Shockley in the end zone...six plays later, QB Sammy Knight broke a lace in his shoulder pads and came out for a play, soph QB Eric Truvillon took snap from center and ran 38 yds for the score
Early in 2nd, Miller kicked 22 yd FG...MG Jim Burt INT a pass and returned it eight yards to Rattler 20...five plays later, HB Lorenzo Roan ran in from the one (Miller XP)...just before half, Knight (30 car/100 yds) tied game with nine-yd run
"Some of us they never bothered to talk to," says A&M Lineman Kenny Parker, who played high school ball in Miami. "Some of the other guys, like me, they said were too small. But A&M showed interest, and Ruby Hubbard had confidence in us."

FA&M huddled under goalpost near scoreboard for prayer...Hubbard hugged Knight and then was carried off the field
