MSU QB Mark Neisen had a 23-yard TD run wiped out by a clipping penalty (the only PEN of game for Spartans) and later in the drive, Niesen was intercepted by CB Dave Brown at the UM 7.
Brown also stopped another MSU scoring chance when his hit forced RB David Brown to fumble near the goal line and roll out of the end zone.
