Notes
On November 14, 1970, when returning from their away game at East Carolina, Marshall's team plane crashed on its approach to Huntington's Tri-State Airport. There were no survivors. On board the flight were 37 players, head coach Rick Tolley and four assistant coaches, two trainers, 25 team boosters and a crew of five. This was the worst disaster involving a sports team in United States history.
